As an Intune admin, you can create and import a comma-separated value (.csv) file that lists 14-digit IMEI numbers or serial numbers. Intune uses these identifiers to specify device ownership as corporate during device enrollment. Each IMEI or serial number can have details specified in the list for administrative purposes.

To create the list, create a two-column, comma-separated value (.csv) list without a header. Add the 14-digit IMEI or serial numbers in the left column, and the details in the right column. Only one type of ID, IMEI or serial number, can be imported in a single .csv file. Details are limited to 128 characters and are for administrative use only. Details aren't displayed on the device. The current limit is 5,000 rows per .csv file.

Some Android and iOS/iPadOS devices have multiple IMEI numbers. Intune only reads one IMEI number per enrolled device. If you import an IMEI number but it is not the IMEI inventoried by Intune, the device is classified as a personal device instead of a corporate-owned device. If you import multiple IMEI numbers for a device, uninventoried numbers display Unknown for enrollment status. Also note:Serial Numbers are the recommended form of identification for iOS/iPadOS devices.Android Serial numbers are not guaranteed to be unique or present. Check with your device supplier to understand if serial number is a reliable device ID.Serial numbers reported by the device to Intune might not match the displayed ID in the Android Settings/About menus on the device. Verify the type of serial number reported by the device manufacturer.Attempting to upload a file with serial numbers containing dots (.) will cause the upload to fail. Serial numbers with dots are not supported.

All mobile devices have a unique identity that is made up of an IMEI number, serial number and model number. Depending on your device model, there are a few different ways to find out this information. Read on to find out how to check the IMEI, model number and serial number of your mobile device.

A serial number and IMEI are similar, but have some differences. The serial number is a unique number assigned by the manufacturer (like Samsung) to help identify an individual device, like a phone, tablet, TV, and so on. For example, your phone's serial number will be different from every other phone Samsung has made. Serial numbers make it easier for the makers to organise and keep track of their products. Your serial number is 11 characters long and is made up of a mixture of numbers and letters.

While Apple no longer provides a way to check the activation lock, there are a number of third-party websites that can check for you. I tried one, imeicheck.com, and it shows that my iPhone activation lock is enabled.

Contact the police and give them the serial number and IMEI associated with your stolen or lost iPhone. They may find it if you're lucky. (iPhone Backup Extractor can tell you both the serial number and the IMEI: they're shown under the "Info" tab.)

So, in the event of loss or theft of your iPhone, you can call up your carrier and tell them the IMEI code. Now, with the help of your service provider, you can block stolen iphone with IMEI number, even if the thief manages to replace a new SIM card. The handset will be totally locked and will be useless right from that moment. You must go through this process only when you are absolutely sure that you won't be able to get your phone back. This way you can make sure that the thief cannot use or sell it either and most importantly your personal data will be safe. This is a very efficient way to bind the hands of the thief, unfortunately not many people know this information. This is a method that can make your mobile completely useless for the thief.

Every cell phone should have a unique factory-set electronic serial number (ESN) and a mobile identification number (MIN). A cloned cell phone is one that has been reprogrammed to transmit the ESN and MIN belonging to another cell phone. Scammers can steal ESN/MIN combinations by illegally monitoring the radio wave transmissions from the cell phones of legitimate subscribers. After cloning, both the legitimate and the fraudulent cell phones have the same ESN/MIN combination and cellular providers cannot distinguish the cloned cell phone from the legitimate one. Scammers can then run up expensive toll charges and the legitimate phone user gets billed for the cloned phone's calls. Alert your service provider if you see unauthorized calls or charges on your account.

Depending on your device, your IMEI or ESN number can be in different places.Below the battery: If you remove the battery on most devices, you will find a sticker or placard noting the IMEI, ESN, and/or serial number (often abbreviated as S/N).On the outside of the box: If you have the box your device came in handy, there should be a sticker with a set of numbers and bar codes somewhere on the outside of the box. You should be able to find any information you are looking for here.Using the handset: On some devices, you may be able to look up the IMEI or ESN number directly on the handset. Of course, this process will vary depending on the manufacturer and model of your device. 2ff7e9595c
