There has been a quality to the Muppets since they were created around the 70's. Who would have thought there was chemistry between a frog and a Pig? And there's one of the greatest romances in history, a relationship full of friction and angst, with a man who won't commit and a very pushy girl, with an amazing and feisty personality. In their latest entry, Kermit is involved in international intrigue, as he's thrown into a Siberian jail and the most dangerous frog in history replaces him, as the company goes on an International tour with more than comical and musical performances. There are ulterior motives for this sneaky amphibian and his second in command, a delightful Ricky Gervais.Things get loonier with two competing authority figures more concerned with vanity than solving the crimes. Here is a battle of the egos that will have you roaring with laughter. Ty Furrell is a talented funny man, showing timing to rival The Three Stooges and mimicking some of the great funny men of the past.In addition to some of the terrific silly bits between all the usual members of the troop, we put the spotlight on Miss Piggy, who is a bit brasher than usual and Animal, trying to make everyone realize there's something wrong with Kermit. Along the way, we are treated to some terrific musical numbers, with more clever than usual lyrics, which are also brimming with the charming appeal of those old musical numbers when it was fun to hum the melodies and sing along. The staging is also quite good, and we keep hoping the numbers get bigger, with more singing, dancing, and some more terrific choreography. The opening and closing musical numbers certainly match some of the 1930's best; this coupled with Burgess' colorful photography is quite a treat.Hope the audience discover this terrific little movie and enjoy a treat rarely seen nowadays. Something that is not quite a sequel, a remake, but a film that is part of a tradition that has earned a place in our hearts and our funny bone.
The Muppets Most Wanted is a fantastic movie packed with comedy and excitement. The crowd was laughing so loudly that sometimes it was hard to hear the movie. This film is fantastic because it has the perfect combination of catchy songs and talented actors. It keeps you on the edge of your seat because you never know who was going to show up next. The Muppets are back for the eighth time and before they finish catching up with each other, they meet Dominic Badguy (Ricky Gervais.) Dominic convinces the Muppets to go out on a world tour. At the same time Constantine, the world's most dangerous frog, escapes from prison and hatches an evil plan to hide his identity. Constantine kidnaps Kermit and takes over Kermit's identity. Kermit is mistaken for Constantine and is sent to prison. This leaves Constantine free to steal the crown jewels of England. It is up to the Muppets to save Kermit and stop Constantine before the world's most beloved puppets become the world's most wanted criminals. The scene where the inmates put on a show in prison is hilarious. It's my favorite part of the movie. Watching scary looking men sing and dance like they are on Broadway is priceless. I also enjoyed watching Constantine act like he is Kermit. You will laugh out loud when you see what happens to him as he gets ready to go on stage during a musical performance. All the actors do an amazing job in this movie. One actor who really stands out for me is Ty Burrell who plays Jean Pierre. His witty comments and funny attitude really add to the comedy. My favorite actress in this movie is Tina Fey who plays Nadya. What makes her performance great is that on the outside she is so strict, but on the inside she is really very warm and caring. Her accent is so realistic that I thought she was actually from Russia. The message of this movie is that true friends will always be there for you no matter how bad things get. "The Muppets Most Wanted" is perfect for both boys and girls ages 8 to 16 and I give it five out of five shimmering stars. You definitely don't want to miss this one. I loved the previous Muppet film, "The Muppets". It was funny and clever...but most importantly it had heart. I really liked the characters and this made the film very sweet. While "Muppets Most Wanted" has its moments, it lacks the heart that made the other recent Muppet film so special. As such, it's only a fair film--not the rousing success that "The Muppets" was--and box office receipts would seem to bear this out as well. "The Muppets" more than doubled its cost--while "Muppets Most Wanted" barely broke even. This film begins very well--with a cute song that follows IMMEDIATELY after the end of the last movie. The words about this being a sequel were funny and set the stage for fun. And, the next song was also pretty funny--but after a while, I noticed two serious problems--there were just too many songs AND the characters behaved uncharacteristically. This odd behavior by the Muppets occurred after Kermit was secretly replaced by his evil lookalike, Constantine (who sounded and acted nothing like Kermit), no one seemed to care. As long as his 'friends' got what they wanted from Constantine, they seemed pretty happy--even though it clearly wasn't Kermit. This just seemed odd...and a bit depressing, as the usual Muppet camaraderie was missing. Instead, it was just very flat. Plus, too much time was spent on some of the guest stars and plots that did nothing to further the characters. Now this isn't to say this sequel is all bad. I liked some parts a lot- -such as the friendship between Sam the Eagle and his new French pal as well as the gulag scenes and a few of the jokes. But overall, I'd say this was a bit of a disappointment mostly due to the strange way the characters seemed too selfish and stupid to care about each other. Just my two cents worth about this one....

I think it depends on how they label and sell 4K. For example if you buy an SD version of a movie, you have to buy it again in HD if you want it. On the other hand, all HD purchases were upgraded from 720p to 1080p when the HD resolution was change in iTunes.
I recently bought a 4K TV on black Friday so, yes, it does matter to me. Is hard to switch back to 1080p after watching those gorgeous graphics in movies and tv series. My smart TV has youtube and netflix, both support and broadcast content in 4K, a beautiful thing; even another reason to skip Apple TV 4th gen. I will settle with my 3rd gen until then. I guess Apple loves to crash into parties very late.
While 1080p and Blu-ray arethe current standard in high definition, 4k or "Ultra HD" is on theway. While 4k displays are currently so expensive that not many people havethem, manufacturers are already selling Blu-ray players and other devices thatwill upscale your movies to 4k. Toshiba's new Symbio BDX6400 is promising notonly a 4k upscaling Blu-ray player but a WiFi enabled media box that willstream content from the Internet or your local devices.
After connecting to thenetwork, the first thing the Toshiba BDX6400 wanted to do was update. We didthat but then it immediately forgot the settings we'd selected (including theWiFi password). It seemed like the BDX6400 punishes users be making themre-select all their settings each time it updates. Hopefully this won't be arecurring problem.
The library of available on-demand titles is currently much smaller than the catalog of DVDs and Blu-rays you can rent from Netflix by mail (currently around 12,000 titles available online vs. over 100,000 available by mail), but there is no limit to the number of movies you can watch in a day or a month (again, as long as you sign up for one of the "unlimited" rental plans for $9.99/month and up). I was able to find a few independent films that I had wanted to check out, as well as some fairly recent mainstream films, and very recent TV programs such as the current season of "Heroes," which was available in high definition.
After adding a few movies and TV shows to my instant queue, I walked from my home office over to my living room to find that the tagged programs and films were already available on my device. That simply and quickly, I had full-length movies and TV shows available for my viewing pleasure, some even in High Def. Cool!
In addition to instant streaming, Netflix customers can get DVDs or Blu-ray Discs by mail for more traditional movie-watching. On standard definition titles, colors were a bit muted compared to DVD and aliasing artifacts were visible around edges and in static backgrounds, but overall the quality was pretty good. For HD films, the quality bar was usually full with the letters "HD" at the end showing that I was indeed getting the high definition versions of the films or TV shows. Video quality on these was noticeably better than standard def titles, with fewer artifacts, richer more saturated colors and improved detail. Panning shots and fast moving images did exhibit some motion smearing, but nothing too drastic. This is not Blu-ray quality, but if you want that, then simply add the Blu-ray Disc for any film in your regular Netflix queue and you'll have it in a day or two. 2ff7e9595c
